Foundation Pour Day

After the inspector (see below) gave his ok, we ordered the cement.

 

Today for the cement pour we had three from Wellspring Bible Fellowship in Roseburg, two from Eastridge Baptist Church in Kent, Washington, and five from Bible Baptist Church in Payette, Idaho come help us. What a blessing!  The ladies from Payette sent food along too! I also was blessed with food from the ladies of the PWOC here in Mt. Home.  We feel loved.  God has richly blessed us.

Saturday & Sunday Foundation Crew

We went to a 50's diner before Sam and Sarah arrived.

Sam (Ed's brother) and Sarah drove down from the Seattle area and arrived Saturday evening.  We went to chapel on base the next day.  We all toured the park across from the chapel.

PWOC Pow-Wow

While the guys worked on our foundation the second day (Saturday), Julie and I were allowed to attend a day of training for our Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC). Tracy came from Ft. Lewis to help us explore ways to minister to the women here in Mt. Home.

 

We were asked to take Play-Doh and make a symbol of what we liked about PWOC.  I love the women, so here is my very artistic version of a woman (notice the big heart.)

 

 

 

 

 

 Jill is always one to pitch in and help clean up.  She has also been a very good friend.  She is moving this summer. I can't stand that thought. I will miss you Jill more than you could know.

Roseburg Work Crew Arrives

This evening Don, Loren and Sal arrived after a long day's drive from Roseburg, Oregon.  This is picture of them unloading the pickup in anticipation for a week of work here on the foundation.

Spring is Slowly Springing

Did you notice the foliage?  It did seem like Spring was late in coming this year and I was right!  Sadly, another change has occurred in this picture.  The next close up shots of the front deck will reveal the problem.

Yesterday, the soaker hose for this flower garden in front of the deck (which we couldn't get to work at all last summer) all of a sudden started working and we couldn't get it to shut off.  Ed had to tear out most of the deck to get to the hose underneath.  What a mess!  We don't know what we are going to do as it seems to be a problem with our whole sprinkler system. We have 5 guests coming this weekend to finish the foundation for our back room.  Thanks for your prayers!
