The past few weeks have been busy and fun! I got to attend Payette High School’s 30 year reunion of the class of 1979. While I graduated from Roseburg High School, I moved there during my junior year. Since we live in Idaho now, I was able to attend a reunion at Payette.
Here I am with Merlene, Julie, Denise and Myra. I was so nervous to attend since I hadn’t seen any of them since the late ‘70’s. It was great fun and I’m so glad to have reconnected with them.
The day after the reunion, we set up for Vacation Bible School (Rome – Paul and the Underground Church) at the chapel at the base. The youth group from Eastridge Baptist in Kent, Washington arrived and went right to work.
The group from Eastridge even got to tour the flight line! What a blessing they were to us. Ed, Julie and I all helped. We had 76 kids.
This is the family, Maximus which Lauren (the leader from Eastridge Baptist) is the family leader.
There were dramas taking place in several areas of the chapel including the ones pictured above in the “marketplace”.
MSgt. Hall played Brutus and Ed played Paul. It was fun for the kids to see “Brutus” transform throughout the week because of “Paul’s” example."
We all dressed up in tunics and togas. The snacks were even in the theme. What a great program. We are already excited for next year!
As soon as VBS was over, we drove 550 miles to attend our niece, Stephanie’s wedding. She was a very lovely bride. The ceremony was God honoring. It was a blessing to be with family members again.
Some of the family members went to church and hung out together the next day. We know we are blessed to have such a great family.
Our lodgings were with dear friends, Walt and Sue Davenport. They treat us like royalty when we stay with them. We sure do love them.
Now the next big event is Julie and Jesse moving to Hawaii next Monday the 24th of August. She got another ultrasound today. They say she is around 15 weeks along.
